I’m no good at reviews but I figured I could just blah on what I’ve read. If anything, just to give the titles exposure because a causal fan who doesn’t stalk various publishers on twitter wouldn’t know about all the translated manga coming our way.

Hello peeps ~ Here’s a little post about what I’ve been doing nerdom wise ~
Reading:
Shitsuji wa Denkousekka de Amaku Dakishimeru by Amane Yuko
An old Book Off find I finally got around to reading…well, attempted to read lol. Since this is smutty josei, the target audience is one who don’t need furigana to understand kanji ( ; w ; 9). Still, I was able to get the gist of what was going on ~ (yay!)
Plot wise…I was confused, but it’s not due to my reading skills. Turns out this volume is like…#4 in a series revolving around these two characters. This would explain why the manga didn’t feel the need to explain what was going on. Hell, not even 6 pages in, we’ve got a character who gets amnesia! However, you don’t really need the other volumes to enjoy the story. Despite the intense cover, Shitsuji is actually a comedy. It was the comedic element that made me buy the volume. I can actually remember the part exactly that made me decide this was needed on my shelf – the main character accidentally whacks her boyfriend butler over the head, giving him amnesia. As the butler boyfriend is trying to figure out who he is, the main character tells him to ask her any questions to help jog his memories. He obliges and begins to empty out the contents of his pockets. Apparently he thought to go through his personal items earlier to see if anything would help him remember. However, the contents on him don’t exactly make sense:
So awhile back I posted about my switch from Lala to Aria and let me tell you…Aria got some weirdass shit in it. I didn’t pay attention at first because I was distracted by the pretty pictures. July 2013 was actually the first issue of Aria I sampled before deciding to go with the switch. However, I didn’t read anything since most of the stuff inside was ongoing, and I was swamped by work but that’s another story. The thing I noticed though was that this issue had new stuff and the following issue was to have new things as well. Figuring this to be a sign, I decided to give Aria a go. 3 months later, my shelves now hold 4 issues, all untouched. Thankfully, I recently found some effort laying around and got around to reading the July issue.
And dude, whoa.
Just…let me tell you…no. Let me show you what was the first thing I saw…You know what. I’ll just link you to it. It’s kind of NSFW so make sure your parents aren’t right behind you. Click here to see what I saw. My first thought was: I have made a grave mistake. The second thought was, I am intrigued. Yeah, I’m a weirdo like that.
The weirdness didn’t just stop with the above image. Nope. The whole magazine was chock full of ( Д ) ﾟ ﾟ (SHOCK) moments. But you know, I didn’t mind it too much. Aria was definitely a nice break from the other stuff out there I’ve been reading. Still doesn’t change the fact the content was weird as fuck though haha.
Thus this post ~ I’ll be doing something similar like I do with Sylph. However, the main difference is I’ll only summarize a few series rather than the whole magazine. Don’t worry though, I’ll still include the cover pages for the other titles in Aria ~ Oogle at the art with me my flamingos ~ :3

So the New York Comic Con event happened last weekend.
(the only reason I knew this was because of Twitter xD)
A bunch of titles were announced and I’m making this post for future reference of which titles I’m looking forward too <3
The only thing that saddened me about the event was there were barely any light novel announcements made (: x : )9 Maybe next time?
Wow, fail. I’m so behind on my April 2011 Sylph stuff that I have this PLUS the new May 2011 Sylph to post about Dx (just got my issue today) [Baby steps, Sylph. You can do this]. Forgiveness for the tardyiness of all this. Life and all that jazz.
I find it kind of funny how the scans for April 2011 look almost identical to those in the March 2011 xD Pretty much Hakuouki, Brothers Conflict, Miyako, and DGS xD But they are Sylph‘s biggest cash cows so it’s only natural they’d get love ~
As mentioned in my March 2011 post, I reduced the size of the scans. As a result, WP didn’t seizure up on me :D Yay ~

On to other news ~ I finally got around to finishing the second volume of Spice and Wolf (the light novel). I really took my time with this title! My original plan was to watch an episode of the anime and then read the corresponding chapter in the book. Was going good until school started to get in the way of my geek life. When I got the chance to pick the book up again, I hit a really good part and next thing I knew, I was done xD
I really enjoyed this second volume! I liked it even more than the first volume. The author mentioned in the “Afterward” he forgot the personalities of his main duo and I actually liked the change. Both Holo and Lawrence were fun. If you read my “opinion” of the first book, I mentioned both characters took a while to grow on me. However, this second volume just made me love the two instantly again. Their banter still entertains :)
Oh, I guess I should mention what this second volume is about, huh? Basically, Lawrence thinks he’s made the deal of the century when he finds out he’s actually been duped! Now levied with a heavy debt, Lawrence has to find a way to earn money or his life is at stake!
There were certain bits I liked better in the anime – like how poorly the town members treated Norah. I didn’t really get the feel of animosity the towns members held towards her in the novel. Rather, we just had to assume because of her awesome skills, people didn’t like her and this made her uncomfortable enough to do what she does. However, there are bits I liked better in the book – such as the part where Lawrence got into debt and was asking his friends for help. It was sort of dragged out in the anime. This scene only took like 5 pages in the novel. I can’t say how later episodes compare to the book because I haven’t seen them yet – will hopefully one day!
Overall, I’m enjoying Spice and Wolf with each volume that’s released. I’m looking forward to seeing what future troubles/fortunes encounter Lawrence and Holo!
Howdy all ~ Hope your Thanksgiving was pleasant!
Been awhile ^^ Was out of town the last week, spending Thanksgiving with my dad :D My dad is awesome. See, I’ve been having car problems the last few months. Well, I guess after the 5th or 6th time taking my car to Firestone, they felt that maybe it was time to actually check the car out this time instead of just turning the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT NOWS light off. That’s when they found my gas tank was missing a piece.

So, my car was stuck in the shop while they waited to order new parts in. Rather than leave me here to have a lonely Thanksgiving with my dog, my dad drove up to pick me up and drove all the way back to his house (with my dog of course). It’s a friggin long drive! Even MY butt gets numb. And the hick towns…*shudders in fear* It was a fun week though :) Nothing says family fun than murdering zombies (I would have visited my friends but they were all out of town, visiting THEIR families haha. Plus no car :<). We also kept stalking amazon for black friday deals (we are a family of nerds xD all we looked for were video game deals!)

How have you been? It’s been awhile since I’ve posted on my poor blog. Forgive me for neglecting you, my pecan pie ~ *hugs blog*

Man, the end of October just signaled the initiation of the TIME TO MAKE SCHOOL SUCK FOR SYLPH TEE HEE plan. Papers, presentations, mock crime scenes, more presentations, tests…it goes on @___@
Come on! A person can only take so much!
I’m proud to say after slaving away on this paper, I’M ALMOST DONE! I’m sort of PO’d because this paper was supposed to be kind of easy but procrastination and writer’s block made its creation come at a painfully slow rate. Every day I could only write like a page before my brain was all, nope. That’s it for me. Ain’t doing ANY more.
*shakes an angry fist at her brain*
Doesn’t help the lady who this paper is due for goes under the alias the Nazi Lady (and she laughed when she found out her nickname O__O Don’t care if the man can chew tin foil, even Chuck Norris would have felt a shiver go down his spine)

Oh yeah!
I noticed on mangafox that someone scanalated the Comic Sylph version of Hakuouki :D Sweet! More Comic Sylph love <3 I was originally thinking of summarizing the manga version but when I looked at it in the magazine, I found it was pretty much just the anime in print form with two exceptions: Chizuru looks more like a boy and the guys aren’t as studly looking as their anime-counterparts.
(man, I really gotta catch up on the anime too…=__=; how many MONTHS have I been saying that? Really? OTL)
Anyway, I think I’ll just stick with Hakuouki Jurenka – though I’ll buy Hakuouki the manga just to finally understand wtf is going on because apparently I’m too lazy to watch anime =_____=; (and also bc I left the magazines with the earlier chapters at home…oops)
Okay, just wanted to let you all know I’m alive ~ (all 3 of you ;3)
I will hopefully get to posting on here again – as well as answer comments and visit my stalk sites – in the future ~ (unless there’s a part II to that plan that I’m not aware of…please no part II ;____;)
