July 2013 Aria

So awhile back I posted about my switch from Lala to Aria and let me tell you…Aria got some weirdass shit in it. I didn’t pay attention at first because I was distracted by the pretty pictures. July 2013 was actually the first issue of Aria I sampled before deciding to go with the switch. However, I didn’t read anything since most of the stuff inside was ongoing, and I was swamped by work but that’s another story. The thing I noticed though was that this issue had new stuff and the following issue was to have new things as well. Figuring this to be a sign, I decided to give Aria a go. 3 months later, my shelves now hold 4 issues, all untouched. Thankfully, I recently found some effort laying around and got around to reading the July issue.

And dude, whoa.

Just…let me tell you…no. Let me show you what was the first thing I saw…You know what. I’ll just link you to it. It’s kind of NSFW so make sure your parents aren’t right behind you. Click here to see what I saw. My first thought was: I have made a grave mistake. The second thought was, I am intrigued. Yeah, I’m a weirdo like that.

The weirdness didn’t just stop with the above image. Nope. The whole magazine was chock full of ( Д ) ﾟ ﾟ (SHOCK) moments. But you know, I didn’t mind it too much. Aria was definitely a nice break from the other stuff out there I’ve been reading. Still doesn’t change the fact the content was weird as fuck though haha.

Thus this post ~ I’ll be doing something similar like I do with Sylph. However, the main difference is I’ll only summarize a few series rather than the whole magazine. Don’t worry though, I’ll still include the cover pages for the other titles in Aria ~ Oogle at the art with me my flamingos ~ :3

B’s Log Kyun Vol 16 (May 2012)

Well, it’s certainly been awhile since I did a B’s Log Kyun write up! Sorry in advance for lack of care in this post. I read the magazine awhile back but only recently started to write up what I read. That gap in time…left me forgetting certain details haha ^^;

That and I’m so unfamiliar with a bunch of the series currently running that I can’t really form an opinion or say much on them.

Since I’m on the subject, wtf is up with B’s Log Kyun’s tankoubon releases!? For some odd reason, some series in their tankoubon form have furigana next to the kanji (Cubism Love for example) but others don’t (Shounen Maid for example). So annoying D8 WHY IF YOUR MAGAZINE HAS FURIGANA YOUR TANKOUBON DON’T!?

Pretty much the rule I’ve found is older titles that are more than 2 volumes tend to have no furigana while new titles do .____.; Which sucks because some of the older series look really cool…

I suck at reviews so I’m just going to do a few sentences about stuff I’ve been reading when school, work, and translating haven’t eaten up ALL my free time lol

(though really, I love my work. Because I’m able to read my LNs while I wait for the computer to do its thing ~ that’s how I got through Book Girl and Spice and Wolf so fast. This arc is definitely amusing. The spirit for this arc is a fujoshi so I was greatly amused by all the BL going on xD (no, they didn’t actually do BL but they joked around with it – comedy is my favorite genre <3)

Mass Manga Opinion #2: Hana Kimi #1, Moon Boy #4-7, Pandora Hearts #2-3, Happy Boys #1

Another week has gone by and I have read some manga…quite a bit of manga…thus, another mass opinion will be presented to you all
(I’ll be honest guys: it’s rare for me to read THIS much manga in such a short time. It’s not that I’ve been buying a lot, it’s just I have quite a back-pile and I’m just now getting to it ^^)

This “Mass Manga Opinion” is definitely a  mixed bag.

I seriously wonder what kind of tastes I have?
Most people say, I like shojo! Or I like shounen!
Me? I have no idea…I know I don’t like bitchy characters…that’s a real turn off…or really sad stuff. I get enough of that from life thanks :______:  Guess anything that interests me, I guess xD (or has cute guys ;D)

Well, I decided to give it a shot ^^

I’m currently trying to reduce the amount of time I spend loitering around on the internet (not to say a little loitering isn’t bad – it’s just I hate it when I plan to only go on for a few minutes and end up surfing for hours. I’m burning day light; especially now that the weather has gotten so much better! Dx It’s a bad habit I’m slowly trying to reduce).

So, instead of surfing the internet today, I spent that time reading the newest chapter of Zeele Sacrifice :D It’s sharing time!

I’m currently freezing my phantom nuts off :D I don’t know how but this place once again got hit by a cold front and is currently in the single digits. Add the wind blowing at a disgusting 20-30 mph rate, and you get weather that feels like it should be in the negatives.

But it isn’t all negative ~ I finally put in my akadot order because they updated their inventory with February’s Sylph <3 And you all saw earlier I got the newest issue of Sylph (March Ed) from my new subscription x3
